How Much Does a Hair Transplant Cost in Milwaukee? (2026 Prices)
By Dr. Alan Locke, DO · Aesthetica Hair Restoration, Wauwatosa · Updated October 2026
If you are researching a hair transplant in the Milwaukee area, the first question is usually the same: what will it actually cost? Many clinics won’t give a number until you come in. We think you should know before you call, so here is our pricing, what goes into it, and why so many patients drive up from Illinois to have their procedure with us.
Hair transplant prices at Aesthetica (2026)
We use a simple, graft-based price for NeoGraft FUE hair transplants. The more grafts you need, the lower your cost per graft. Every procedure includes our PRP graft holding solution and exosome graft preparation at no extra cost.
| Grafts | Price | Cost per graft |
|---|---|---|
| 2,000 grafts | $7,500 | about $3.75 |
| 2,500 grafts | $8,000 | $3.20 |
| 3,000 grafts | $8,500 | about $2.83 |
| 3,500 grafts | $9,000 | about $2.57 |
For comparison, published national figures put most U.S. hair transplants between about $6,000 and $15,000 or more, depending on how many grafts are needed.1 Your exact graft count is set by your physician after reviewing photos of your hair loss. Send us a few photos for a quick quote.
How many grafts will I need?
Every pattern of hair loss is different, but as a general guide:
- Rebuilding a receding hairline or temples often falls in the lower part of our range.
- Restoring the crown (vertex), or the hairline and crown together, usually needs more grafts.
- Larger areas of thinning may need 3,000 grafts or more, depending on how much healthy donor hair you have.
We plan your graft count around a natural-looking result that fits your face and your long-term hair loss pattern, not around the biggest possible number.
Why a hair transplant in Milwaukee costs less than in Chicago
Hair transplant prices track local costs, and Chicago is one of the more expensive markets in the Midwest. Cherry, the patient financing company, reports that the average financed hair transplant in Chicago in early 2026 was about $10,000.1 Many of our Illinois patients tell us the quotes they received in Chicago were close to double our price for a similar procedure.
On a 3,000-graft procedure, that difference can mean saving several thousand dollars, which is why we see so many patients from Chicago, the North Shore, Lake County and northern Illinois. Our hair transplant clinic, at 2500 N. Mayfair Rd. in Wauwatosa, is about an hour and a half from downtown Chicago, with free parking, and most patients go home the same day.
What makes our grafting different: PRP and exosomes
Aesthetica is part of a practice that specializes in regenerative biologics: PRP, stem cell and exosome therapies. We bring that experience into the operating room, because the hours between when a graft is removed and when it is placed matter a great deal for how well it survives.
PRP as the graft holding solution
While your grafts are outside the body, we keep them in platelet-rich plasma (PRP) made from your own blood instead of a plain storage solution. PRP is rich in natural growth factors. Published studies support this approach:
- In a study published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, follicular units treated with platelet growth factors produced about 15% higher follicular density than untreated grafts in the same patients.2
- In a randomized study of 40 FUE patients, those who received PRP during surgery had less shedding of transplanted hair, earlier new growth, and better density at six months. All 20 PRP patients had more than 75% follicle growth at six months, compared with 4 of 20 patients in the control group.3
Exosome graft preparation
We also prepare grafts with mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosomes, and like PRP, this is built into your price rather than charged as an add-on. Exosomes are tiny vesicles that carry growth signals between cells. A 2024 prospective study found that MSC-derived exosome injections increased hair density in men with pattern hair loss over 12 weeks, with no side effects reported.4 Research on exosomes is newer than research on PRP, and we are transparent about that. We use them because they are a natural fit with our regenerative approach, and because they support the healing environment around the newly placed grafts.
For patients who want to strengthen their existing hair as well, we also offer a staged regenerative protocol with stem cell hair restoration, exosomes and PRP hair treatment before and after the transplant.
Financing: 0% APR options with Cherry and CareCredit
Most of our patients choose to finance. We work with Cherry and CareCredit, which both offer 0% APR promotional plans for qualified applicants. Applying takes just a few minutes, and checking whether you prequalify with Cherry won’t affect your credit score.
As an example, if you qualify for a 24-month 0% plan, a $7,500 procedure works out to about $313 a month, and a $9,000 procedure to about $375 a month. Plan lengths and terms depend on approval, and our team will walk you through your options.
Is a hair transplant worth the cost?
An FUE hair transplant moves your own healthy hair follicles from the back and sides of your head, which are naturally resistant to pattern hair loss, into thinning areas. Once transplanted hair grows in, it continues to grow like the rest of your hair. Compared with years of temporary products or hair systems, many patients find a transplant is the better long-term value. Results vary from person to person, and your physician will give you realistic expectations at your consultation.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a 2,000-graft hair transplant cost in Milwaukee?
At Aesthetica, a 2,000-graft NeoGraft FUE hair transplant is $7,500. Larger procedures cost less per graft: 2,500 grafts are $8,000, 3,000 grafts are $8,500, and 3,500 grafts are $9,000.
Why is a hair transplant cheaper in Milwaukee than in Chicago?
Chicago is a higher-cost market. Many Illinois patients tell us their Chicago quotes were close to double our price, so traveling about 90 minutes to Wauwatosa can save several thousand dollars.
Can I finance a hair transplant?
Yes. We offer financing through Cherry and CareCredit, including 0% APR promotional plans for qualified applicants.
Does insurance cover a hair transplant?
Hair transplants for pattern hair loss are considered cosmetic, so they are generally not covered by health insurance. Financing is the most common way our patients spread out the cost.
What is PRP used for during a hair transplant?
We use PRP from your own blood as the holding solution for grafts while they are outside the body. Studies have linked PRP during hair transplantation to less shedding, earlier growth and better density. PRP and exosome graft preparation are included in our price at no extra cost.
